Abstract

"Scenes of Hatred, Death and Progress" is a polyptych whose logic follows that of an installation. This exhibition took place at DeCurators, a space devoted to both artistic and curatorial experimentation. João Angelini's works assume herein the form of an allegory which denounces the genocide policy of extermination of vulnerable peoples and population which characterise the colonial regime and turn the history of Brazil into a nightmare. all the exibitions at DeCurators are conceived upon the spatiality of the gallery. Its showcase and small internal space lend the objetcs placed therein a visibility which is anchored in the western represantational tradition but equally partakes of the logic of immersion which is integral to the experience of artistic installations.
