Abstract

With the advancement of the micro informatics, geoprocessing techniques have been implanted in Geographic Information
Systems – GIS, which increased the spatial analysis capability. The present article discusses some of the relations
between the techniques implemented in the GIS and the geosystemic method of landscape analysis. To that end, it is
presented a technical-methodological path used in the analysis of the environmental vulnerability of the Ceará River
drainage basin – CE, which currently goes through significant environmental changes.
