Abstract
A cidade de Atalaia do Norte está localizada à margem direita do Rio Javarí, onde a erosão é mais intensa. Na área da cidade, até o contorno com a selva, foi constatada uma forma suave e ao nordeste e noroeste áreas baixas, que são alagadas nos períodos de janeiro a maio, quando o Rio Javarí atinge a sua lâmina máxima.
Baseado no exposto foi feito um estudo morfológico, com vista à definição do projeto das ruas. As curvas de forma (não de nível) dão uma ideia geral da topografia de toda área, o que pode facilitar para um futuro estudo da implantação de sistema de saneamento.
