the process of interaction with the practice of fishing through the “jangadinhas” game on the beach of Uruaú, Beberibe, State of Ceará, Brazil

Abstract

In Uruaú beach, artisan fishing has a great influence on the community's economic maintenance, so much that it expands to other cultural practices. One of which is the making of jangadinhas, small boats that simulate the rafts used by fishermen. These rafts are used by fishermen and their children to play on the beach and in the community's lakes. We start from the problem of how the process of insertion in the fishing activity happens, thinking of the making and playing with the jangadinhas as part of this process, bringing the debate on the relationship between work and social movements in the formation of the concept of education. We have as objectives discussing the process of insertion in the fishing activity starting from the playing with the jangadinhas using the concept of popular education. Furthermore, to highlight aspects of artisan fishing in Uruaú and its social organization. The observations for this work began in 2016, referring to the movement of fishermen and their guidelines for maintaining their practices in the Lagoa do Uruaú, along with an insertion in Colônia Z-11, which takes care of the political and social issues of Beberibe fishermen, in 2017, promoting observations from within the institution that governs the movement.
