The growing dropout of the classroom, has shown how worn and devalued the teaching profession has become. Along with pressure factors for high performance amid a pandemic scenario, the political-educational system produces psychic and physical breakdowns in its professionals. There is much debate about the effectiveness of teaching and learning by students, however, little is discussed about working conditions and the effects on teachers' health. This article aims to reflect on the wear and tear of teachers and correlate it with the appearance of Burnout Syndrome. Based on a literature review, we seek to understand and identify the first symptoms and the physical and emotional consequences generated by the conditions of the educational system. The vocal, physical and mental strain, long working hours, beyond unsatisfactory return, pedagogical reinvention of social isolation, non-social recognition against and pressure for high performance in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, are some of the alleged evidences that may be directly related to the development of Burnout syndrome.
