Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

Author Guidelines

There are no costs for authors to submit and publish their articles in the journal Olhares & Trilhas.

Please be advised that all texts submitted to Olhares & Trilhas are scrutinized for the prevention of plagiarism.

 

RULES FOR THE PRESENTATION OF THE ORIGINALS

1. The Editorial Board of the journal receives proposals of texts unpublished in its specialty all year round in the form of articles, reviews, galleries and reports of experience. Professionals who wish to collaborate with the journal should send their texts, indicating the section (articles, reports, essays, reviews, interviews and galleries) - Teaching, Research and Extension

2. Olhares & Trilhas magazine accepts digitized works in Portuguese, English and Italian, respecting the orthographic standards in force in each case. The texts must be accompanied by abstract and keywords (in the language of the text) and abstract and keywords in English. As Olhares & Trilhas is a periodical related to the great Teaching area, one should privilege pedagogical practice, subsidized by theoretical presuppositions.

3. The research is constituted in the one linked to the post-graduation, or the research generated in the groups of studies existing inside the educational institutions or, also, in the groups linked to the post-graduation.

4. Finally, the extension, which is the work done in the school community or other educational institutions.

5. Those interested in publishing in the journal Olhares & Trilhas must register in the Electronic System of Publishing of Magazines and inform the ORCID (www.orcid.org).

§ 1 If the author (s) find (s) necessary, they may indicate if the work is a dissertation abstract or thesis; if it is linked to other projects, if assistance has been obtained to carry out the project; any other data relating to the production of material. In the case of dissertation summaries or theses, indicate (in the final text) the title of the same, institution where defended the project and date of defense.

§ 2 The translation of articles published in the Journal into another language without the authorization of the Board of Directors is prohibited.

§ 3º When sending the material for publication, the author (s) is / are automatically giving up their copyrights, following the Creative Commons policies adopted by the magazine; the author agrees with the editorial guidelines of Revista Olhares & TRilhas and, in addition, assumes that the text has been duly revised.

§ 4 Two members of the Scientific Committee (or ad hoc referees, if the subject matter does not fit into the areas of expertise of the members of the committee) will give an opinion on the work, approving them or suggesting the changes they deem necessary. In the event of an opinion being favorable and otherwise, the work will be sent to a third member of the Scientific Committee or to an ad hoc expert.

§ 5 After the analysis, the works will be returned to the authors, along with a copy of the opinions. Papers that require changes will be sent to the authors to make the suggested modifications and, within a period of up to ten days, corrected texts should be sent back to the Journal.

§ 6 There will be a second (or third) round (s) of evaluation for all the works for which the reviewers have requested revision.

§ 7 The publication of an article by author (s) or co-author (s) in each issue of the journal shall be permitted.

§ 8 The journal will accept papers with a maximum of three authors.

§ 9º Each author may only publish one article per year in the journal.

§ 10 The organizer (s) of a thematic edition should write the presentation of the edition.

§ 11º To avoid endogeny, the journal will not accept a percentage greater than 20% of the works of each edition of authors that come from the Federal University of Uberlândia. If this level is reached, the works considered will be the first received.

6. Sending Originals

The material for publication, in .doc or .rtf format, should be sent through the magazine's website.

The author needs to register first.

The texts submitted must contain a maximum of 20 (twenty) pages, including bibliography and annexes where appropriate, scanned with single spacing.

The pages should be configured as follows:

* Paper size: A4

* Margins: upper and lower (3cm), right and left (2.5cm)

* Type: Times New Roman Text: body 12

* Line spacing: 1.5

* Quotes: indentation 4 cm, body 11

* Abstract: no indentation, bold titles, body 11

* Footnotes: without recoil, body 10.

Footnotes must necessarily appear at the foot of the pages where their numerical indices appear.

7. Structure of work

The texts must comply with the following order:

a) Title in bold, centralized, without uppercase; translation of the title into English, a line below it (in the case of English texts, translation of the title into Portuguese);

b) Name of the author (s) in extenso, two lines below the title, aligned to the right; to be added only in the final version of the work, after approval by the referees;

c) Scientific affiliation, in footnote, drawn by an asterisk, with the maximum title, the name of the institute or faculty to which it belongs and the name of the university (acronym); also to be added only in the final version of the work, after approval of the referees;

d) Abstract, in the language of the text (maximum 200 words), two lines below the name of the author, without furthering and in simple spacing;

e) Keywords (up to five), one line below the abstract, separated by a semicolon;

f) Two lines below the keywords should contain abstract and keywords, following the same abstract and keyword standards;

g) Text: two lines below the keywords start the text, in spacing 1,5 between lines and without spacing between paragraphs; the subheadings corresponding to each part of the text should appear on the left, in bold and without further insight. Subtitles should be numbered from the first. Two lines below the text, without inclusion, should include bibliographical references (without numeration), in alphabetical and chronological order, indicating the works cited in the text.

h) Bibliographical references: must be arranged in alphabetical order by the last surname of the author, meeting the standards of NBR 6023: 2000 of ABNT. The title of the publications should be written in bold. The DOI code, if available, must be provided.

Citations in the text The author should be cited in parentheses by the surname, separated by comma from the date of publication (BARBOSA, 1980). If the author's name is quoted in the text, only the date in parentheses is indicated: "Morais (1955)." When it is necessary to specify page (s), it must follow the date, separated by a comma and preceded by p. (MUMFORD, 1949, pp. 513). Quotes of more than three lines should be inserted in separate paragraph, indent 4, single spacing, body 11.
