A atual Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (UFU), tão conhecida pela sua excelência no ensino superior, pesquisa e extensão, percorreu um longo caminho para chegar ao status em que se encontra hoje. Assim, busca-se no presente artigo contextualizar o surgimentoda Faculdade de Odontologia de Uberlândia, em sua formação e concretização, bem como evidenciar a importância da formação oferecida pela Universidade Federal de Uberlândia a seus alunos da odontologia para a sociedade.
