The objective of this article is to demonstrate and analyze the social indicators of the municipalities of Campos Lindos, Formoso do Araguaia, Lagoa da Confusão, Pedro Afonso and Porto Nacional from 1991 to 2010, where agribusiness operates. What is perceived is that the social quality of life indices of the municipalities analyzed do not correspond to the indexes recommended by the United Nations Organization. The methodological procedures were based on the qualitative method and on a bibliographical review on the theoretical debate regarding the relationship between the agribusiness economic activity and the social conditions of the local population. Such procedures were organized and executed from a theoretical-critical analysis of the social divides of the capitalist frontier in Tocantins.
