The purpose of this article is to discuss the academic productions concerning the Modernisation of Agriculture in Brazil. The ambiguity of the dual economic reality of the primary sector in Brazil is better understood when it is known the historical process of modernization. In this publication, both traditional approaches as current interpretations regarding the modernization of agriculture. The historical context of the developmental model of pregnancy until the project of conservative modernization, our
intention is to analyze the modernization bias in macroeconomic understand the nature of scientific farming, and finally, discuss publications related to the impacts of
modernization.
