Policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
With the purpose of preserving the integrity, excellence, and transparency of the works submitted and published in Revista Caminhos de Geografia, we establish the following guidelines regarding the use of AI tools:
- Authorship: AI resources do not qualify as authors of research and must not be credited in the preparation of texts, images, or data.
- Responsibility: The supervision of AI use is the sole responsibility of the authors, who fully assume accountability for the content produced, including potential errors, plagiarism, or harmful conduct resulting from the use of such tools.
- Authenticity and originality: Authors employing AI to generate or analyze content must ensure that the work is original and justify the use of AI as relevant to the research.
- Declaration of use and transparency: All manuscripts that make use of AI—whether in generation, analysis, review, or any other capacity—must explicitly declare it in the materials and methods section (tool name, version, model, applied parameters), and specify the role performed in the development of the text, thereby ensuring the credibility of the research.
