Abstract

The social distancing imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic has led to the reconfiguration of living spaces to integrate new activities. In this context, the [MORA] Housing Research Group initiated research on [RESILIENT HOME] from the development of post-occupancy assessment tools for impacts and resilience – the ability of the built environment and people to adapt and respond to impacts. This article aims to present the research results of the impacts centered on COVID-19. Data collection took place online, in a broad and unrestricted way, in two periods (2020 and 2022), with samples of 468 and 198 respondents, respectively. Most participants are from the Southeast region of Brazil, with a predominance of women (70%), with postgraduate degrees, living in homes with 3 to 4 people. Residences have on average; 4 to 7 rooms located in traditional urban areas and include outdoor spaces. The main areas of dissatisfaction were the adaptation for exercises, furniture and rooms for work and study, entrance for contaminated objects, and space for sanitizing purchases. Thus, it is highlighted that the profile of individuals influences access to possible adaptations in their homes during the pandemic.
