Abstract

The paper aims to present and discuss a proposal of methodology for research with youth. Its intention is to showcase possible methodological paths that place young people as active subjects in the generation of knowledge about youth and its relationship with cities. To do so, the paper presents, in its first part, the concepts that support our proposal of methodology: youth, city, spatial practices and daily life. Then, the elements that compose the methodology themselves are presented and discussed. The first element involves the photographic records made by young people in their paths and uses of the city, while the second is a group discussion, in which, through the recorded images, young people are encouraged to think about their practices and those of the other components of the group. This paper intends to present the methodology as a possible resource in the production of knowledge about the spatial dimension of youth, with the young person as an active subject of this process.
