Abstract

This research aims to analyze the challenges and possibilities for the teaching of geography, generated from the context of remote classes, focusing on the perspective of teachers who work in public schools of regular education in Roraima. The methodological procedures adopted include:  approach of qualitative-quantitative nature, exploratory character, survey of bibliographic sources, use of questionnaire for data collection and analysis of information with teachers from the field of geography working in basic education at elementary schools (6th to 9th year) and high schools in Roraima. The data obtained in the research reveal the main challenges faced by teachers: the difficulty to reach the school community, students’ lack of motivation, little training for teachers in remote classes and little teacher-student interaction. As for the possibilities, the research points out how these teachers saw new paths for remote classes, through the use of technological tools and interactive means.
