In 2014, the state of Rondônia created five hydrographic basin committees to intermediate conflicts involving land use and occupation in its territories. However, lack of information on these units compromises efficiency in decision making. In this context, this study aimed to contribute to the management of Rio Branco and Colorado Committee by developing a multitemporal analysis of land use and occupation from 1985 to 2040. The analysis was performed with images from Landsat followed by simulation of the landscape carried out using the Modules for Land Use Change Evaluation. As a result, the mapping of land use and occupation indicates that the classes of forest use were most impacted between 1985 and 2019 with a changeover of 33.069% of forest to other uses. The modeling indicated gradual reduction in the rate of deforestation from 2030 to 2040, with leading role of protected areas like Massaco and Rio Branco Indigenous Lands; Resex Quilombola and Rebio Guaporé, responsible for 52% of the forest class to be upheld until 2040, while pasture is expected to occupy 44.59% of the territory, if the current usage dynamics is maintained.
