Abstract

Rural tourism is seen as a tool to promote economic growth and social well-being in areas with a low human development index and which have natural attractions of interest, being far from large urban centers, it is also considered a complementary economic activity used by agricultural communities that seek to promote the sale of products, goods and services. The main attraction of rural tourism are the different spatial and social characteristics of the region, variables that can be analyzed with the help of geographic information systems and remote sensing, facilitating their management, planning and execution. Therefore, this article aims to analyze, through bibliographic review, different methodologies applied to the planning of rural tourism projects using geoprocessing tools.
