Abstract

This article is an introductory reflection on the geopolitical dynamics of global power relations and current hegemonic capitalism, based on a new doctrine of security. The objective is to discuss some points of US hegemony in recent decades with influences on historical and cultural processes of domination in Latin America. For this, we will be based on the concept of heterarchy proposed by Santiago Casto-Gómez and the question of international consensus as a fundamental point in the maintenance of current capitalist imperialism. The methodology is based on the qualitative method through bibliographic readings of classic and contemporary authors, such as Castro-Gomes (2007), Ceceña (2004ª, 2004b), Gramsci (2001) and Wallerstein (2010). It is hoped that this paper can contribute to analyzing how the geopolitics of US imperialism is based on a hegemonic framework validated by international consensus.
