Abstract

Through discussions guided by the colonialities os power, knowledge, being and nature (WALSH, 2008), in this article we sought to associate the contributions of different authors about the common together with the concepts of space and territory. Understanding modernity and coloniality as two sides of the same coin (CRUZ, 2017), is is pertinente to understand the different forms of traditional knowledge as couter-hegemonic political possibilities. By valuing the contributions of caiçaras, academic and non-academic, the present work sought to put into practice what Sousa Santos (2018) called South Epistemologies. Within this perpective, it’s noted that it is in the field of action where the main contributions to the debate within Geography between common and totality are found.
