Abstract

The increase of groundwater use contrasts with the lack of knowledge about fractured aquifers potential and environmental factors that contribute to better hydric productivity. Acknowledged as influence factors on productivity, Inter-flow Structures (E) – fractures, vesicles and amygdules – and Soil Thickness (S) were analyzed in order to evaluate their influence over productivity of wells that exploit the SASG, on the northern Paraná. The amount of E present in geological profiles was calculated and the S values were observed for 60 wells. In order to evaluate the influence of the E type, three well groups were created and productivity data were compared. In order to evaluate the influence of the amount of E and S on productivity, correlation and multivariate variance analyzes were applied. The only group which presented a medium correlation with the discharge was the group that had three types of structures on the profile. The S showed a very small to small correlation with productivity. Multivariate analyzes confirmed that the only variable that suffers influence of the amount of E and S is the discharge. It is concluded that E and S influence aquifer productivity as well as identify that E has a bigger influence than S.
