Abstract

The objective of this theoretical work is to establish dialogues between the conceptions of territory in Geography, Health and Family Health Strategy; and the Territorial Cartography, in order to fill gaps in theoretical-practical systematization. The present text is structured in three sections: the first section undertakes a movement to trace the breadth of meanings and appropriations of the concept of territory in the field of Geography; the second section discusses the various uses and appropriations of the concepts of Territory and Territorialization, in health and in the Family Health Strategy; and the third section presents the potential of the Territorial Cartography as an integrating instrument of several variables of health interest and in the decision making process in public policies. Finally, it is hoped to subsidize students, teachers, workers, managers and users of health services, with a view to planning and implementing health practices that concretely recognize the territorial dynamics.
