Focus and Scope

A Revista Caminhos de Geografia é um periódico on-line organizado e mantido pelo Programa de Pós-graduação em Geografia (PPGEO) da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia. A Caminhos de Geografia tem como objetivo a divulgação do conhecimento científico de temas pertinentes à Geografia e áreas correlatas com interfaces nas Ciências Humanas, Tecnológicas e Ambientais.

Para tanto, são publicados artigos originais resultantes de pesquisa científica de natureza empírica, experimental ou conceitual da área de Geografia e de áreas afins (desde que tenham, em sua essência, relação com a Ciência Geográfica), contribuindo assim para a ampliação do debate científico e acesso ao conhecimento geográfico em âmbito nacional e internacional.

Revista Caminhos de Geografia has open and free access, not charging authors any type of submission or publication fee.

Frequency and completion of submissions

A Revista Caminhos de Geografia é um periódico bimestral, possuindo assim seis edições anuais: Fevereiro, Abril, Junho, Agosto, Outubro e Dezembro.

As submissões à Revista Caminhos de Geografia são exclusivamente online e, salvo ocasiões excepcionais, ocorrem em fluxo contínuo por meio do endereço: SUBMISSÕES ONLINE.

Para realizar submissões, um dos autores deverá possuir cadastro no sistema da RCG e se tornará o contato principal dos editores. No entanto, antes de submeter o artigo, os autores devem seguir as orientações disponíveis em DIRETRIZES PARA AUTORES.

Todos os artigos submetidos deverão ter no mínimo 1 (um) autor com o título de Doutor.

Autores que tenham submissões em andamento somente poderão realizar uma nova submissão após o recebimento do parecer final (aceitar ou rejeitar) daquelas que já estão em processo editorial na revista.

A Caminhos de Geografia não publica dossiês, resenhas, artigos de revisão e trabalhos apresentados em eventos acadêmicos.

Peer Review Process

First, the works submitted to Caminhos de Geografia Journal are analyzed by the editors regarding the following criteria: alignment with the journal's scope, compliance with the submission rules (listed in the Submission Conditions and in the Author guidelines) and plagiarism checking (through specific software).

Given the requirements, the articles are immediately forwarded to 2 reviewers of the Scientific Council of the journal or ad hoc referees, in a blind peer review (the articles are sent for evaluation without author identification). All evaluators are specialists of notorious knowledge in the thematic areas of Geography and related sciences and recognized in the topics covered.

The evaluators will give opinions on the scientific quality of the work, in accordance with the following parameters: Originality, Scientific relevance, Cohesion, Clarity, Graphic quality of figures.

In case of conflicting opinions, the works will be forwarded to a 3rd reviewer.

Based on the reviewers' evaluations, the editors will make the relevant referral, which can be one of three options: accept, request changes or reject the article.

When reviewers request changes to the works, the authors will have a deadline to carry them out and will be subject to a new blind peer review. In case the referees' requests are not fulfilled, the texts will be rejected by the Editorial.

The editors reserve the right to invite renowned experts in the area to publish research and studies, in which case the editors are the evaluators.

The average time between submission and the final evaluation opinion is approximately 6 months.
