Abstract

The objective of this article was to apply the DPSIR (Driving Force, Pressure, State, Impact, Response) framework as a tool to identify and assess anthropogenic impacts on the Dom Nivaldo Monte City Park (PCDNM), located in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte. For this purpose, a checklist methodology was used, which consists of a systematic verification list to identify and record the main pressure factors exerted on the park, as well as their consequences on the environmental state, the impacts generated and the possible management responses. The results indicate that, despite the park being a Conservation Unit, human activities have negative impacts on the environment, requiring control and monitoring measures which, despite being proposed in the Management Plan through inspection, training and environmental education of its employees and visitors, have not proven to be completely effective.
