Climate change has been the focus of several research projects, in which Remote Sensing (RS) shas stood out in environmental monitoring, driven by tools such as Google Earth Engine (GEE). In this study, the surface area of Lake Chungará over 38 years was determined and correlated with annual precipitation data. Processing was carried out using SR techniques implemented in GEE. The results indicate a reduction in the area of the lake between 1986 and 2023 of around 13%, in line with a decrease in annual rainfall of almost 80%. The overall correlation between rainfall and area was significant (R² = 0.7986), with the periods 1996-2001 (R² = 0.9756) and 2001-2009 (R² = 0.8917) standing out. Anomalies in 2017 and 2022 negatively impacted the most recent R² value (2013-2023), which went from 0.5222 to 0.8808 with the removal of these years, suggesting possible external influences such as anthropogenic action or additional natural processes, such as anthropization of the region, recharge of underground reservoirs, influence of thaw, etc. The importance of studying the impact of climate change on different scales is emphasized, as well as the practicality of new technologies effectively aiding research.
