Abstract
In the present investigation an analysis of the impact caused by the agricultural drought with the use of the Agrarian Drought Index (ISA) for Corn, Beans in areas of Venezuelan municipality (Ciego de Ávila) is carried out. The determination of Reference Evapotranspiration is carried out using the Penman Monteith FAO-1998 method. The results show that the agricultural drought processes impact in different ways in each crop, this allows to improve the vision of the farmers and to draw strategies for the application of methods of soil conservation and water resource. It is also demonstrated that there is a recurrent presence of the agricultural drought phenomenon, where periods of severe and severe droughts occur more frequently affecting severely the yields of the crops analyzed.
