Claudia Paim corpo paisagem#sur,: the betrayals of memory

Abstract

This article proposes a new view of the work of Brazilian artist Claudia Paim, specifically the videos recorded and edited by her. The aim was to understand how the artist saw the landscape, and for that, her photoperformances from the series Corpopaisagem and excerpts from her writings were analyzed. The study was developed from the author's memory of visits to exhibitions, research on archives, and access to the artist's videos available online. The definition of landscape was based on Michel Collot's reflections. The text has the axes: As seen through her eyes and recorded with the camera; Corpopaisagem; The voice, the landscape that comes out of her mouth, and the betrayals of memory.
