As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • There is no conflict of interest.
  • No data falsification/fabrication.
  • No citation manipulation.
  • I have attached the cover letter to this submission.
  • I have included all the authors who collaborated in the manuscript' formulation (name, e-mail, institution, ORCID).

Manuscripts submitted to Revista Brasileira de Cartografia – Brazilian Journal of Cartography – shall be formatted according to the template document available (instructions in portuguese) on the website (template). Submissions should be made in docx format (Microsoft Word). Manuscripts that are not formatted according to this template will be rejected during editorial screening. Figures and tables should be inserted throughout the text, not at the end of the document in the form of attachments.

 

Manuscripts submitted to RBC will be subject to double-blind peer review. Submissions undergo editorial screening prior to peer review. Editors may discard manuscripts that do not meet the journal minimum requirements. The criteria cover the following aspects:

  • overall content quality;
  • language usage;
  • plagiarism;
  • formatting;
  • author identification (name, email, institution, ORCID)
  • works involving human subjects should present the approval of an Ethics Committee (at institutional, regional or national level), in accordance with resolutions 466/2012 and 510/2016 of the National Health Council of Brazil;
  • submissions having a single author must be accompanied by a letter justifying this condition.

  • an author/co-author may have only 2 manuscripts under review at the RBC simultaneously.
