Partnerships for education
A report of experience of an educational exchange between Brazil and Angola

The aim of this paper is to report a student's experience of the international education exchange conducted in Angola through the program of the association of Portuguese Language Universities during undergraduate Nursing education. The text is a descriptive experience report. The opportunity to live in Angola facilitated discussions and identified differences in health between countries, fostering a more reflective and critical perspective on nursing practices in diverse contexts. Additionally, the exchange contributed to both professional and personal growth, strengthening skills, and developing problem-solving capabilities, enhancing independence and personality development. In addition, it has contributed to strengthening partnerships for the training of nursing professionals among countries of the Global South. However, this exchange brought significant benefits to the nursing student, the home institution, and the host institution. Despite the challenges, this experience led to the formation of new friendships, the assimilation of new values, and perspectives, thus enriching the student’s education.
