Abstract

This article describes the curatorship process carried out in the 1st Challenge of Visual Arts, that took place through the course of Internship in Visual Arts IV at a university in the State of Santa Catarina, Brazil. The challenge was carried out as a way to create teaching and learning spaces for high school students, both from public and private schools, during the COVID-19 pandemic. This work begin by interweaving concepts discussed by Ostrower (2014) when talking about creative process with those by Carvalho, Gottardi and Souza (2020), in which they reflect upon education in this pandemic period. Seeking to analyze with more specificity the curatorship process carried out with the works submitted by high school students in this challenge, we rely on Martins (2011), who addresses the concept of educational curatorship. This article demonstrates great importance for reflecting on the process of curatorship in a non-formal educational context, in addition to creating a space for us to think about the training of visual arts teachers in its aesthetic, ethical and poetic dimensions.
