Abstract
ABSTRACT: In this paper I try to unveil the meanings learners attribute to their English learning experience through an analysis of the terms they use to talk about their language learning, such as "master the grammar, "keep and memorize the subject matter,� etc. These expressions are part of the students' pedagogical discourse (Orlandi, 1987) and reveal their beliefs and conceptions of language and language learning. The theoretical framework is based on the theory of enunciation (Orlandi 1987; 1988; 1989; 1995).Downloads
