Abstract

The objective of this work is to analyze the use and land cover and its influence on the limnological characteristics in three river channels located in the buffer zone of the Parque Estadual do Aguapeí. Sampling in surface waters took place in December 2018 and April 2019. The steps carried out consisted of processing and analyzing the use and land cover through elaborate maps and analysis of climatological variables in the contribution basin of the channels, as well as analysis of hydrological and limnological variables in the channels, the measured variables were analyzed using statistical tools such as cluster analysis. The results showed that the use classes of temporary culture and natural vegetation can influence in greater proportion the limnological variables pH, dissolved oxygen, water temperature, total phosphorus and electrical conductivity. The classes of exposed soil, urbanized/built area and agropastoral can mainly influence the concentrations of suspended material and its fractions. From the results found, it is worth emphasizing the need for improvements that can help to avoid aggravating environmental problems that impact natural resources in the Aguapeí State Park.
