ESTUDO DA VULNERABILIDADE FÍSICA DAS EDIFICAÇÕES EM ÁREAS SUSCETÍVEIS A MOVIMENTOS DE MASSA E ENXURRADAS NA VILA MEDIANEIRA - FAXINAL DO SOTURNO - RS

Abstract

This article aims to present a study of the physical vulnerability of buildings in susceptible areas to mass movements and flash floods in Vila Medianeira, located Faxinal do Soturno, central region of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. As a working methodology, was carried out the characterization of the urban space of Faxinal do Soturno and the study area, followed by the literature review for the selection of vulnerability indicators, as well as fieldworks, unstructured interview with the persons residing in the study area and consultation with municipal institutions. From this, was prepared a registration form based on four degrees of vulnerability (low, medium, high and very high), who considered the physical characteristics of the buildings, their surroundings and urban infrastructure available. In the register, the total of 70 buildings was counted, of these 24 were identified as low vulnerability, 23 of medium vulnerability, 14 of high vulnerability and 9 of very high vulnerability. Based on this, the final product of this work contributed as a tool for Civil Defense for the management of the risk of natural disasters in the study area.
