Digital age is established and, in this context, the ways of accessing the information have changed drastically in the recent decades. Social networks gained great prominence and the dissemination of information is unbridled and often does not have solid scientific bases. In this context, this experience report aims to present the “Cérebro Descomplicado” extension project, a serious and committed scientific dissemination initiative using social networks as a main tool. Although reflection on the effects of using social networks on science is paramount, the impact of the present project reinforces the importance of these new ways of information dissemination in modern society, demonstrating that social networks can be an efficient tool for scientific divulgation and dialogue between the university and society.
