The “TransformAtion 2024 Program” in the town of Carmo do Paranaíba, state of Minas Gerais, Brazil

The present study aimed to report on the activities developed within the scope of the outreach project promoted by the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU) in the town of Carmo do Paranaíba, in Minas Gerais (MG) State, Brazil. Entitled “TransformAtion 2024 Program”, the project stood out as an innovative initiative focused on professional training and strengthening social inclusion. Throughout the program, eight training courses were offered, such as: Sewing, Cooking, Waitering, Basic Computer Skills, Basic English, Brazilian Sign Language (Libras), Music in Special Education, and a Preparatory Course for College Entrance Exams. A total of 245 places were available, although there were 543 applications, demonstrating the relevance of the initiative to the population and the great interest of the local community. Through accessible and targeted teaching, the program contributed to expanding educational and professional opportunities, strengthening essential skills for the job market and daily life. In addition, the “TransformAtion 2024 Program” represented an opportunity to strengthen ties between the university and the community, reinforcing UFU's commitment to the democratization of knowledge and human development. The actions carried out highlight the potential of education as a vector for positive change, directly impacting the quality of life of participants and their families.
