This article proposes to investigate the concept of black corporeality in contemporary afro-brazilian art. It is proposed that the black corporeality is characterized as a site for discourses in afro-brazilian visual arts production. It appears that ancestry hybridizes through the body with the languages of contemporary art, creating collective works of art. Through a bibliographic survey, we sought to answer the question about possible relations and paths in research between black corporeality and contemporary art. It was intended to stimulate contemporary Afro-Brazilian art as a field of research in / about art.
