This article is part of the result of an investigation concerning spatial paradigms in Conceptual Art, based on an experimental methodology that seeks to draw a morphology of such artistic genre by categorizing the axes of dematerialization and decentralization of the artistic object in relation to space and time. The paper investigates the ways in which spatiality may appear within conceptual art through three possibilities: on the borderline axes, the work “Le socle du monde” by Piero Manzoni, a statement by the Italian artist that the whole work was a work of art (thus representing a kind of absolute geography), and Robert Barry's “The Space Between Pages 29 & 30”, a kind of noumenon that abstracts artistic intuition through an impossible space. In the meridians between these hemispheres ranging from absolute territory to impossible territory, the essay studies the spatial indeterminacy in works that do not have a predefined spatial boundary, such as some pieces by Vito Acconci, Guy Debord, Richard Long, Christo and Jeanne-Claude.
