O cotidiano sonoro nas escolas municipais de Bagé: um estudo com diretores e professores

The paper presents the results of a research carried out during the period of social isolation by a Research Group in Music Education at the Federal University of Pampa, at campus Bagé. In this context, the general objective of the study was to understand the place of music in the municipal elementary schools in the city of Bagé/RS. As specific objectives, to reveal which teachers work with music, to investigate which musical practices and/or activities involving music occur in schools, to reveal the opinion of schools directors about the presence of music in the school curriculum and to analyze to what extent the thematic unit Music, present in the Art component of the Common National Curriculum Base is being attended in municipal schools. 32 schools from 36 were involved in the investigation. Therefore, 32 schools directors participated and also 37 teachers who responded to online forms. The research’s results propitiated to know about the music scene in schools, in order to bring the university closer to the school reality. They also provided the opportunity for critical reflections on how music is being worked, indicating ways on how a transformative musical education can be promoted.
