Social media, more precisely Instagram, are home to diverse content niches. Among them, the financial market, in which Thiago Nigro stands out. In this sense, based on a corpus of 60 occurrences of the term “enrichment”, Nigro’s speech was studied. Thus, the aim is to analyze the paraphrases around the term ‘enrichment’ in these contents and understand how it is constructed, what points of view affect it and what values are associated with it. Furthermore, we sought to evaluate meritocracy in these statements and investigate whether the influencer considers economic and socio-historical differences. The research is descriptive and explanatory, as it aims to collect, select, and classify textual data associated with enrichment and analyze its object: the values and worldviews linked to Nigro´s speech. The theoretical-methodological references are based on French Discourse Analysis (FDA), mainly the works of Michel Pêcheux and his peers. The analysis procedures stem from Freire (2014). So far, heterogeneity has been perceived, noted in the division of occurrences into two main paraphrastic groups: Sacrifice and Destiny. By concatenating enrichment and personal merit, such discourses are part of a capitalist and liberal Ideological Formation, given the valorization of capital and individual action, notably detached from social determinations.
