Abstract

The aim of this report is to expose the extension actions developed in the period from 2020 to 2022. In summary, news are published on the blog Cariri Transparente, which, since its creation, has 169 posts, more than 10,000 views and 4,340 visitors; promotes the realization of tax education courses in elementary and high schools of the CRAJUBAR perimeter, in addition to annual participation in the realization of the Seminars of Fiscal Education of Cariri. Social control and fiscal education are instruments for the exercise of citizenship, relating to the individual’s participation in society, monitoring and supervising government actions, in order to solve problems, ensuring that their rights are not violated and fulfilling their duties. In this sense, the extension program “Conscious Cariri: knowledge transforms the citizen”, linked to the Pro-rectory of Extension of the Federal University of Cariri, State of Ceará, Brazil, aims to encourage the social control of the Caririense population. Therefore, it is perceived that the Program contributes to awakening citizens about their role in the supervision of public entities, improving their services and reducing social inequalities.
