The present work analyzes a fertile experience of action research in indigenous territories Kaiowá and Guarani in Mato Grosso do Sul, particularly affected by problems of public health, education unrelated to local conditions, cultural breakdown and social disintegration. Beyond the practical results and the solutions encountered together with the community, the interdisciplinary projects of action research based on ethno-education and tacit knowledge to the indigenous community itself, giving rise to publications, monographs and dissertations. The resulting knowledge is added to the disciplines of the regular curriculum of different courses, feeding back the process of designing and implementing new extension projects.
