an extensionist approach

Abstract

Education in human rights, religious education, and diversity has been consolidated as a fundamental field for the construction of a more just and inclusive society. In this context, university outreach plays an essential role in connecting academia to social demands, promoting continuing education experiences and the production of applied knowledge. This article aims to discuss the interface between university outreach and basic education, emphasizing its importance for valuing diversity, the promotion of human rights, and religious education as a tool for understanding and respect among different beliefs. The methodology used is based on a bibliographic review containing relevant studies on the subject, in addition to the analysis of outreach experiences implemented in different educational contexts. The results indicate that well-structured outreach actions contribute significantly to the formation of citizenship and to tackling inequalities in the school environment. It is concluded that strengthening the dialogue between universities and basic education is essential to ensure a more equitable and inclusive education.
