Abstract

By proposing a text about the need to teach Milton Santos, the main intention is to show the importance of this black intellectual for critical thinking, not only in Geography, but in any area of ​​knowledge dedicated to understanding the dynamics of territories from of different vectors. It is certainly impossible in this article to cover all of Milton Santos' theory that can be transformed into classroom content. That is why we chose to develop a reflection with the various faces of globalization as its guiding theme, above all, the face of socioeconomic perversity that influences education, racial issues, and the entire territory. To teach the topic of globalization through a critical approach in the classroom, we suggest videos – documentaries and interviews – in which Milton Santos is the protagonist. The videos help to establish the image and corporeality of Milton Santos and contribute to expanding the understanding of his worldview. Finally, we hope to contribute to reinforcing the relevant legacy of this important geographer for the critical understanding of the world in which we live.
