Abstract

This work highlights the analysis of the relationship between educator-learner from the pedagogical practice of the Tarralfas extension project, by the Pro-Rectory of Extension of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Norte. We started from a qualitative research with participant observation of a fishermen and housewives community on Pirangi do Sul Beach, State of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, and the action of literacy agents. The teaching praxis was analyzed in the light of Paulo Freire’s works. We show that in the process of apprehending knowledge and culture, pedagogical practices need to lead educators and students to freedom.
