Abstract

During the extension course “Continuing Education for Education Professionals for the Promotion and Defense of Human Rights and Diversity in Brazilian Basic Education Institutions,” promoted by the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU), I had the opportunity to deepen my study of sexual and gender diversity and women's rights. Throughout Unit II, entitled “Sexual Diversity, Gender, and Women's Rights: Understanding to Combat Distortions that Deny Rights,” I came across the article "School and Childhood: Transphobia Remembered," which provides a critical reflection on confronting transphobia in the school context and the challenges faced by transgender children and adolescents in educational institutions.
