Abstract

The approach on the importance of music for the development of children in early childhood education implies analyzes about the way music is explored in school and how its use can aid in the development of  learning in different areas of knowledge. The objective was to analyze music as a social practice, as well as its importance in the cognitive development of the child. Subsequently, considerations are made about how teachers should deal with these situations in their daily lives and how they can improve their teaching methodologies with the use of music. This work is justified in the need to analyze the efficiency of music as part of a teaching methodology aimed at cognitive development in early childhood education. The methodology used for the accomplishment of this work was the bibliographical research on the thematic approach. Finally, it is verified through this study that music plays an important role in children's cognitive development, because it acts in a beneficial way with the child's sensory and motor systems, besides stimulating their forms of expression and social interaction.
