Interview with the artist Georgia Kyriakakis in her studio, in the city of São Paulo, in January 2020. Baiana by birth, Georgia lived and grew up in São Paulo, where she built her career as an artist and as a university professor. Graduated from FAAP in the late 1980s, with training anchored in drawing, she sees her production take new directions during the 1990s, when she became interested in the materiality of the world, explored through everyday objects, the behavior of the repertory artistic material and the forces involved in bodies in relation to space. At the meeting, we talked about his background, about how geography came into his art work, about the existing border(s) between art work and the world and about the meaning of making art today.
