From my experience with drama, started in 1998, as a participant in the “Açorianos” process drama, coordinated by Beatriz Cabral, I reflect on the emphasis on the materialities that drive the collective creation of the scenic-fictional narrative in the drama and how this aspect had an impact in my approach as a teacher and actress. I highlight how the strategy of compound stimulus (Somers, 1999) and the textual materials in the processes, inspired two experiments that I carried out outside the context of the drama: the creation of the performance “uma lady MACBETH” (2009) and “Os Outros do outro Brecht” (2011). The emphasis given to materialities, in current research that I develop with a focus on teacher education, seeks to draw the attention of the theater teacher to the power of the materials - text, space, objects, sound, images - in game with bodies, in order to intensify the poetic atmosphere in the classroom. Thus, based on the action of the teacher, who acts as a co-creator in the processes, the materialities provoke reactions, sensations, reflections in the students / participants, in order to sensitize them and engage them in the pedagogical theatrical proposals.
