Body, Gender, MasculinitiesAbstract
The bodies that arrive at the University are diverse and different from each other, in the groups and in the relations they exert with the environment in which they coexist, they are loaded with affections from the negotiations between subjects and society. A text in the midst of this complexity we live in, the body is constantly evidenced from the result of cultural traditions and constructions. This research analyzes the relationship between masculinities and dance through the Group of Studies in Education, Dance and Culture (GEEDAC) of the Graduate Dance Course of the Federal University of Santa Maria / RS. The group permeated a body inventory based on their social and affective relationships to then compose relationships between childhood, adolescence and memories in the construction of choreographic scenes. In a society marked by (hetero) normativity, by homophobia and, above all, by gauchos’ chauvinism, we build a possibility of dance, another dancing masculinity from the relations between body, Gender and Sexuality. We call this heterotopia "Boy’s fussiness".
