Abstract

In different societies and time periods, religious experience can be studied as a collective or individual social phenomenon. The researcher is therefore open to different possibilities for studying the human relationship with the "holy". Taking the gender perspective as our theoretical premise, in this article we will analyze transcribed fragments of narratives about the lives of saints (hagiographic narratives) that were published in the religious newspaper O Romano between 1851 and 1853.
