Abstract

As a black woman, a former domestic worker with decades of experience, and an active union leader, Nair Jane de Castro Lima represents several sectors of the Brazilian labouring class, both of the past and the present. Amid the turmoil brought on by the SARS-CoV-2 global health crisis, this interview goes beyond the aspects of the current scenario by seeking to establish a narrative within the parameters of the realities experienced by domestic workers throughout the course of their fight for rights in the country.
