This paper aims to investigate the political trajectory of Iracy Picanço from her entrance into the student movement (1959) to exile (1966). We start from Iracy's memories as they appear in accounts of oral history. Then, we analyze the revolutionary militant entrance into politics and how her life was affected during the coup and the beginning of the Brazilian business-military regime. History is marked by the erasure women´s experience and contribution to critical political times. The rescue of the memory of this political activist from Bahia contributes, in this case, to the advancement of knowledge about the life and participation of women in Brazilian history.
