The appropriation of women’s lives in the performance society

Abstract

In the performance society, individuals internalize the idea that they must achieve certain levels of productivity. The purpose of this article is, based on the perspective of the sexual division of labor and on the analysis of data presented in research on female labor, to present reflections about forms of appropriation of women's lives in the performance society.
